| Title | Technology Research of AIS Information Processing in the Water Safety Supervision System |
| Abstract | As China’s industrialization, urbanization and the transportation industry are developing rapidly, and facing with the growing container port cargo traffic, the development of inland waterway transport is an effective measure to enhance the overall transport capacity, and become an important mode of transport in the future cities and important reserves of transport capacity. In the vessels engaged in the inland navigation, according to IMO’s specific requirements about the installation of AIS, all international sailing ships whose gross tonnage is 300 and above, and non-international sailing ships whose gross tonnage is 500 and above, and all the passenger ships should install AIS.Combined with the western projects of the Ministry, this paper, according to international standards about AIS, researches the AIS information processing technology and has ultimately been completed with the AIS Information Processing System. This system completed with the real-time analysis about the AIS messages and transferred the ship dynamic and static information from analytical information through the network server.First, the paper analyzed the development of AIS at China and abroad, then explained the principle of the AIS and analyzed the AIS message format and the types of message. In addition, the research and design methods of core technology of the AIS information processing system are described in detail. On its basis, it provides the specific method of the information processing system and the analysis of test results. AIS information processing system mainly includes four modules which are the serial data communication module, AIS data analysis and packaging modules, network communications module and the analysis and packaging modules to deal with network data packets user-defined agreement. They are aiming to complete the data message reception, AIS real-time data analysis, data upload after analysis and the capabilities to analysis the data packets from the network server.When realizing the system specifically, each module is programmed with Visual C++6.0 development kit to generate DLL which can be used to realize the entire AIS information management system. Such design has a clear arrangement, readable and understandable interfaces, as well as strong extendibility. The AIS information management system connects the AIS base station through UART. It receives many ships’ AIS telegram texts, after analyzing, uploads to the higher server.The results of this research have been applied in the scientific research project of the Ministry of Communications, which is now in the charge of Navigation Research Institute in Dalian Maritime University. This project is mainly containing The project-Study on Information Sharing Technologies of VTS, AIS and the Network Monitoring System, whose main purpose is to solve the critical technologies of information sharing in the marine safety information. |
