| Abstract | Two important trends are emerging in the World Wide Web(WWW).The first is proliferation of so-called Web Service–self-contained,Web-accessible programs. The second WWW trend is the emergence of the so-called Semantic Web.In contrast to today’s Web,which is designed primarily for human interpretation and use,the Semantic Web is a version for a future Web that is computer-interpretable.The combination of Web Service and Semantic Web gives birth to another new technology–Semantic Web Service.The Semantic Web markup language can be used to describe the semantics of Web services and make them computer-interpretable entities,so as to enable programs or agents to locate,invoke and compose web services automatically. This paper focuses on the method of automatic Semantic Web service composition and aims to develop a technology which can automatically and flexibly compose various existing services to fulfill users’ tasks according to their requirements and preferences.The states of methods of Web Service Composition are first introduced,and analyze the relation between Web Service Composition and related theoretical backgrounds.Based on Semantic Web Service and OWL-S specification,a first-order logic Situation Calculus method for services composition is proposed.And then the desirable axiom is adopted in Situation Calculus.A method of mapping from OWL-S to Situation Calculus axioms is proposed.Meanwhile,it proposes Golog as a natural formalism for the task of automatic semantic web service composition and extends the existing Golog interpreter in order to provide a user-preference interpretable deduction. Finally,it develops Demo-SC,a prototype system of automatic Semantic Web Service composition in java programming language.Adopting desirable axiom in Situation Calculus and extending the existing Golog interpreter in the paper could customize the automatic Semantic Web Service composition both in theory and application. |
