| Abstract | The Journalism research will be no lack of theories or thesis on Image of China. Research as how crisisreport would affect China image, or research as how the way of Chinese report by foreign media wouldimpact on China image. Inspired by those papers, this essay is going to research on the foreign reportsby China’s mainstream media. Guided by Frame Theory, this essay will perform a content analysis onthe foreign reports on the international plates of People Daily, the greatest Chinese daily with the mostcirculation, in an hope of inspiring more research on foreign countries’image in the eyes of Chinese. Inthat case, with more and more research, the international reports by Chinese Media could be pushedto innovate.As an essay for Master’s degree, this research is going to analyze foreign reports on People’s Daily’sinternational plate, with a view to achieve 1) proving the fact that selection of news elements offoreign reports would fall in to some frame; 2) proving the fact that the selection of news elementwould be affected by the China’s interest; 3) an overview of content distribution of foreign reports.This research is guided by Frame Theory, which would be efficiently helpful in finding the breakpointwhen performing a content analysis. Moreover, the conclusion drew with the help of content analysiswould be re-analyzed by Frame Theory. In that case, this essay got that: 1) foreign reports by China’smedia contain stand-points, which could vary along with China’s national interest; 2) by holding high toa point of international interest, the standpoint containing in the reports is successfully concealed; 3)the news contents of respective countries are different according to the connection to China’s nationalinterest.
