| Title | Development and Application of High-speed Motion Controller Based on ARM+CPLD |
| Abstract | There are two main motion control types in these days, one is based on PLC and motion control module, the other is based on PC and motion control card, both have advantages and disadvantages, but there are common following shortcomings. First, because almost all of them adopt a common microcontroller (MCU and DSP) to achieve motor control, since the restrictions of the CPU’s speed, as well as a number of CPU processes need to be operated at the same time, so it can not promise the accuracy and the speed in the application of some relatively high speed of occasions. Second, the component of motion control is only a part of the whole system, if we complete a full control over the machinery and equipment, we also need other digital/analog control equipment. It is greatly increasing the system cost and also lowering the system reliability.In this dissertation, a High-speed motion controller which is based on ARM+CPLD is designed. The closed-loop control of motor is completed by a high-speed processor CPLD, the complex motion planning is achieved by the 32-bit processor LPC231X of ARM7 TDMI. it makes the motion control more precision, speed and smooth movement. At the same time. It expands the general-purpose I/O Interface for the system which the motion control card does not have. With the exception of the 8-point high-speed pulse input and 8-point high-speed pulse output which a 4-axis motion controls is required. The system also has a 24-point digital input (optional, cathode/ anode), 25-point relay outputs. And with the help of this motion controller, it is easy to complete 4-axis motion control and some essential on-off control. The software and hardware in this system are portable. The motion control components are the core of hardware. The expansion of digital input and digital output. AI) input, DA output, and some common functional modules can be easily set aside in the ARM processor resources. The software structure is composed with three parts. In the uppermost layer,μC/OS-â…¡operating system is used to complete the system task dispatch. In the bottom, the operation of the equipment to be packed in the form of the underlying driver, it can be directly available to users. In the middle layer, according to different user requirements, the user program is prepared , and then it is transmitted toμC/OS-â…¡system.The motion controller was used in a machine which is usd to set label on the bottles.
