Abstract

The article origins in an Air Force’s project which aims to design an integrated testsystem for display control system of a certain type of aircraft. The test system is appliedto test and locate the fault of the local replaceable units and their descendant units.Sincethe system has complex test items, multiple kinds of interfacial signals, and highrequirements for function, performace, accuracy and response speed, that traditionalmanual test methods can not meet the need.Therefore, in the design process, the newesttest technology and electronics design technology have been utilized, and shop shelfproducts and standard test bus have been used to a great extent.Nowadays the systemhas implemented integrated test for multiple performance parameters, and distinctlyexcels the peer military test system at the accuracy,testmethodandoperationalutilityaspect,because of its great value of militaryutility.The design rule and development process for the test system is introduced as anemphasis. According to the requirements of the devices to be tested, PXI test platformand the corresponding standard test cards are adopted, the non-standard test cards arebuilt, and test program is designed for the test system which realizes the systemengineering design theory of from requirement analysis to top design to detail design.First, the structure and working principle of display control system are described,and the requirement for the hardware and the software is analyzed, thus the top designscheme of the test system is proposed, and the system hardware structure is described indetail.Second, the critical technology in system hardware design is presented as anemphasis, especially the development steps of design, build, and debug for vectorgeneration card and video overlap-add card are introduced in detail. The two cardswhich own higher technologic quality are developed according to the requirement forspecial video interfacial signals. They are designed in the development environment ofQuartusâ…¡8.0 and Niosâ…¡8.0, by the hardware design language of VHDL and C, withthe design method of system on a programmable chip. The FPGA chip on the cardconsists of CPU module and VHDLmodule, and the interface between it and peripheralcircuits is designed to simple and flexible mega-core function which is based onQuartusâ…¡8.0 and is powerful. Furthermore, system hardware design contains the designof power card, vector driver card, and channel switch card.Last, the software development process for the test system is simply introduced. Through using software engineering theory, top design scheme, interface design methodand running circumstance are described from the requirement. Particularly, the testprogram is designed by object-oriented design method, in the development environmentof VC6.0++ and MFC. It has implemented the man-machine interface and functionalmodules for all test items which include the test and fault-location for display andcontrol processor, display units, control panels of display system, and panel for displaymission loading.At present, the test system is in the phase of joint test between software andhardware. The hardware has completed the building of test platform and the debug ofbasic function of all circuit modules; the software has completed the building of entireframework and the design of the man-machine interface and main functional modules.But, the joint test for part of modules in the system has not yet been completed.
