| Abstract | Since the invention of the two-dimensional bar code technology, as a high efficient code/decode method, it has been widely used in various fields.Bar code images are captured by scanner or industrial camera traditionally, however, with the development of embedded devices, capturing bar code images through camares within embedded devices has become a popular trend, and this trend promotes the development of the mobile two-dimensional bar code. The purpose of this paper is detecting and recognizing DataMatrix two-dimensional bar code images captured on Symbian embedded devices platform.First, this paper discussed image pre-process technology in two-dimensional bar code. Through the image pre-process, bar code image can be enhanced, and transferred into two-value image, which is benefit for the decode process next step.Following, this paper discussed DataMatrix two-dimensional bar code’s characteristics.Using the algorithm of detecting DataMatrix bar code base on Chain-code tracking to detect and recognize the bar code.Then, there are perspective phenomenons in bar code images, due to uncontrollable cputuring angle caused by embedded devices. This paper uses classic anti-perspective algorithm to adjust iamge, and using cubic convolve method to calculate the interpolation.Finally, we use Symbian SDK to design and implement a bar code decoding system base on Symbian platform with Auto Focus function which can capture bar code images in real-time, and this system can decode bar codes fast and accurately.The system has been tested in different versions of Symbian platform and the results certify the good stability and real-time character.after decoding, we also can carry on advanced application. For example, we can send the decoded information via SMS system or connect to the web site contained in the information directly. |
